SEPTEMBER 2002 - Continued...

At this point I am well chuffed!!

SEPT 20th 2002

I am a bit down, I’ve just fetched all the engine parts up to the garage, and all the rocker gear is missing
Panic E-mail to Chris Gamble. That spare head you have got, what’s on it mate, friend, pal? HELP!

SEPT 27th & 28th 2002

Full inspection of the engine
Mains, Big Ends, Little ends Bores, and Pistons all in good condition. Then I notice the ½ time wheel is a bit lose on its pin, very loose! Off to read what Chines Stewart and D W Munro have to say about this “ The fit of this gear is important if top end oil pressure and flow are to be maintained”. Well this is a prick in a shirtsleeve, so off to the garage again to look what the head and cam bearing faces are like.
“Oh dear, well dam” I said, this engine has not had any top end lubrication. I suspect the rockers went in the bin shortly after every thing went bang, stripping teeth of the ½ time wheel as it went

Next course of action, Bottle of Bells, I find thing often look better out the bottom of a whisky bottle

Let you know how I get on.

 See Chapter 2!
