But Vauxhall Only Make Cars! In the early twenties Vauxhall Motors were heavily involved in motor racing and enlisted the services of Ricardo Engineering to design a new 3 litre engine for the Vauxhall TT racing car. The new car was a complete success and so Vauxhall employed Ricardo who had previously been contracted to work on motorcycles by Triumph, to completely design a new Vauxhall Luxury Motorcycle. The new machine was launched in 1923 and was a very advanced design. It employed a 960cc four cylinder engine with shaft drive on the left hand side to the rear wheel.
