Other British Shaft Drive Motorcycles

But Vauxhall Only Make Cars!

In the early twenties Vauxhall Motors were heavily involved in motor racing and enlisted the services of Ricardo Engineering to design a new 3 litre engine for the Vauxhall TT racing car.

The new car was a complete success and so Vauxhall employed Ricardo who had previously been contracted to work on motorcycles by Triumph, to completely design a new Vauxhall Luxury Motorcycle.

The new machine was launched in 1923 and was a very advanced design.

It employed a 960cc four cylinder engine with shaft drive on the left hand side to the rear wheel.
